P&O celebrated its 180th anniversary in 2017.
But instead of looking back at the last 180 years, what if they looked forward? And asked the P&O Ferries social audience and customers to design what the ferry of the future will look like?
To hook folks in, a bizarre looking ship design was posted on the P&O Ferries Facebook page, with the promise that it was the mock-up of the latest P&O ferry.
This was then revealed to be a hoax. But now the audience were captivating, the the chance to win a year's free ferry travel was revealed.
All people had to do was post their own suggestions using #FuturisticFerry. The best entries were then beautifully designed, 3d rendered, and posted on the P&O Ferries Facebook and Instagram pages.

The winner then bagged themselves a year’s ferry travel for two.
Then the competition opened up to primary schools. The winning entry was pretty out-there.
